Celebrating Excellence: A Glittering Evening at AAA Awards 2023

The American Alumni Association (AAA) hosted a night of prestige and recognition at the AAA Awards 2023, a glittering event held at The Westin Dhaka on October 26, 2023. This prestigious occasion celebrated the remarkable achievements of American alumni in Bangladesh who have significantly contributed to the nation’s growth across various fields.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including the Honorable Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Justice Obaidul Hassan, who attended as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Mashiur Rahman, Economic Affairs Adviser to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, who served as the Co-Chair. Ms. Nusrat Feroz Aman, the President of AAA, and Mr. Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, the Treasurer, alongside members of the association, former Presidents, foreign dignitaries, business leaders, and media representatives, all added to the grandeur of the evening.
Awards were presented in various categories, highlighting outstanding contributions. Notable awardees included Saima Wazeed for Education, Bimalangshu R. Dey for service to society, Dr. Qudsia Huda for Public Affairs & International Development, Professor Syed Munir Khasru for Policy & Governance, Sonia Bashir Kabir for Innovation/Business, Professor Ehsan Hoque for Science & Technology, Iresh Zaker for Art & Culture, and Professor Rounaq Jahan for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The diversity of the awardees, spanning education, healthcare, business, and government, exemplified the strength and vitality of the AAA. Dr. Mashiur Rahman commended their work, acknowledging its inspirational impact on Bangladesh.
President of AAA, Ms. Nusrat Feroz Aman, emphasized the transformative power of American education, noting how the awardees are driving positive change within their communities.
Justice Obaidul Hassan, in his speech, underscored the need for all citizens to contribute to Bangladesh’s development, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
