The Brain Gain Series: The Mind Behind bKash

The American Alumni Association (AAA) successfully hosted the first Brain Gain Series event of the year on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Kennedy Hall, EMK Center, Gulshan. The session featured renowned Bangladeshi entrepreneur Kamal Quadir, founder of bKash and CellBazaar, and a TED and Aspen First Mover Fellow. The event brought together AAA members, guests, and professionals for an engaging evening centered on innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transformation of Bangladesh’s financial and tech sectors.
The conversation with Mr. Quadir explored his journey as a pioneering figure in Bangladesh’s digital economy, including the inception and growth of bKash — now a household name in mobile financial services. Attendees were treated to insightful reflections on leadership, impact-driven ventures, and the power of technology in creating inclusive progress.
