AAA PAYING TRIBUTE TO LANGUAGE MARTYRS

In a powerful display of unity and reverence, the AAA EC hosted a touching event on February 21st, 2023, to celebrate International Mother Language Day. The gathering, held at the iconic Shahid Minar in Dhaka, was a poignant tribute to the brave Language Martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the preservation of our mother tongues. As the clock struck 3.30 p.m., we gathered in front of the British Council on Fuller Road to commence the solemn proceedings. With heads held high and hearts full of respect, we placed wreaths at Shahid Minar, paying homage to those who laid down their lives to uphold linguistic diversity. The atmosphere was one of somber reflection, yet it exuded a profound sense of unity and pride in our linguistic heritage. Attendees from all walks of life came together, transcending barriers of language and culture, to honor the resilience of those who fought for the recognition of their mother tongues. The event served as a poignant reminder of the importance of preserving and celebrating linguistic diversity, fostering a deep appreciation for the power of language in shaping our identities. As we left the ceremony with renewed determination, we carried with us the spirit of the Language Martyrs and a commitment to promote inclusivity and respect for all languages. This International Mother Language Day, we pledge to continue the legacy of the Bhasha Shoiniks by cherishing and safeguarding our mother tongues for generations to come.
